About the founder
Olivia Alm Brillantes founded Förnim as an outlet for her art in 2021. It was a coping mechanism for the mental and physical pressure derived from climate anxiety. Her climate activism took an unfortunate turn in 2020 when she was physically abused by guards at Bukowskis. She was peacefully reciting a poem about time running out for humanity to circumvent climate emergency – pointing at the current exhibition full of expensive watches, a criticism towards Bukowskis, an auction house that at this time was owned by Lundin Energy(formerly Lundin Oil). After the incident she lost the remaining trust she had in authorities taking responsibility for climate change. Her artivism[activism through art] changed direction. Although she had been creating for most of her life, be it writing, painting or acting – now it became a critical place for her to understand the forces at play – and how to work through them with the help of mindfulness, her senses, and art therapy. In 2023 she eventually found a space for her to flourish and slowly started sharing her ways of managing emotions through art in her guided meditative art experiences. After a great success she is now taking the leap of opening this space to an even wider audience. Welcome to Förnim.
